Thyroid Autoimmunity and Assisted Pregnancy

Kris G. Poppe, Rima K. Dhillon-Smith, and George J. Kahaly

This review explores how thyroid autoimmunity may affect fertility, ovarian stimulation, implantation, and pregnancy outcomes in women undergoing assisted reproductive technology. It discusses the diagnosis and underlying immune mechanisms of thyroid autoimmunity, as well as its associations with subfertility and adverse pregnancy outcomes. The review also highlights the uncertainty surrounding optimal management of euthyroid women with thyroid autoimmunity and the need for personalised approaches to fertility care.
